Tips for Preparing Your Kids for Family Photos

Manage Expectations

Tell your kids what's happening and set expectations. Something like, "Hey, we’re going to meet [photographer's name] to take family photos today! It’ll take about 45 minutes, and if you listen and have fun, we’ll have a great time." Reassure them that if they need breaks, they can take them.


Plan for Treats and Snacks

Bribery works wonders—especially when it comes in the form of fruit snacks! Have healthy snacks ready that won’t mess up their outfits, and pack little treats as rewards for cooperation. Save the chocolate and melty stuff for after the session.


Leave Plenty of Time
